Organization Submitting RFD:

Armstrong Park S. C.

Programme Area:

Armstrong Park Soccer Club Operations

Secondary Programme Area(s)

Armstrong Park Soccer League(s)

Present Situation:

The Armstrong Park S. C. has very successfully operated the ladies (adult) leagues with only 1 or 2 volunteers for a great number of years.  Until the formation of NDASC last year, this operation also included the men’s leagues for the previous five years.  As it is very difficult to attract a significant number of competent people for league/board duties, usually due to work or family commitments, it is not possible to be fully compliant with OSA Club Membership Rules.

This year, our club operated a league with seven (7) teams consisting of six adult ladies teams and one guest youth select team.

Specific Decision Requested:

Armstrong Park S. C. requests to be exempt from all requirements of OSA Published Rules, Section 4 – Policy 2.1, as allowed under Policy 2.4g.

The club would instead operate under a published set of ‘Rules and Regulations’ to be approved by the SNE Executive Committee and OSA.  These ‘Rules and Regulations’ will be submitted annually to the SNE Executive Committee for review to ensure there are no conflicts with OSA Published Rules

Budget Requirements (Change if any): This year:

$0.00

Availability of Funds if not included in this year's budget:

N/A

Advantages:

To simplify our Club operations while remaining within OSA Published Rules.

Possible Objections:

None expected as there are no set rules for appointment or election of officers

Alternatives:

Club would be in constant non-compliance as available personnel is very limited which could possibly force withdrawal or expulsion from SNE
